Gamer Phi Gamer (gamerphigamer) is a social networking site for gamers, but also a fraternity/sorority for video game players that was originally started by Jevon Hobbs and later joined by his childhood friend, colleague and business partner Julius famadico. The intended purpose for creating the idea for the site was to give the user member a place where he feels he belongs and is accepted regardless of age, look, race, geek, nerd, cool or not etc. In the common fraternity/sorority you have to go through a series of hazing and it's whether you're cool or you're not within that chapter organization. The catch is we don't believe in hazing and we think everybody is cool no matter what the case. Gamer Phi Gamers mission is to become the first largest online global fraternity/sorority in the world. okay so here's the skinny, before gamerphigamer came into existence we joined and visited other sites basically being typical gamers ourselves, I actually had several accounts on different sites because i just couldn't get all of everything on just one site, I'm sure you get the picture. So of course to make a long story short this is where the idea for gamerphigamer came from. In Sept. 2009 Founder Jevon Hobbs decided to start a revolution to create the ultimate fraternity/sorority gaming site for everyone of every culture around the world, our doors opened up to anyone that played a variety of old school games, new school games and we delivered a connection to Xbox Live players around the globe. Why not make this site the platform for self expression, the idea actually came from facebook, we all like facebook because it offered a new generation of communicating with a more personal feel to it. We decided to bridge that over complimenting facebook by integrating similar features within our site and adding facebook connect for users to easily logon using their facebook username and password. A few of the features that have been added are the commenting and status updates, "like" and "unlike" buttons, cutting edge blogging capabilities, create a discussion group, poke button for greeting someone with a handshake, wave, hi-5 or hug. We also took it to another level and added a chat bar at the bottom of the page which shows how many are online, a translate page button, a games button, and a sophisticatedly dynamic chat button where an individual will have the option of viewing there friend, family or opponents as they play in multiplayer games and Xbox Live. Our approach, let's shape the human race and make a place for everybody.
